About Readability Checker
Readability formulas translate text complexity into objective scores. Flesch Reading Ease combines average sentence length and syllables per word into a 0-100 score. Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level maps to US school grades. Gunning Fog adds complex word ratio.
How It Works
The tool splits text into sentences and words. Syllables are counted per-word using a vowel-cluster heuristic. Three readability formulas run against the aggregated counts. All computation runs in the browser.
Who Is This For
A content marketer checks a blog post before publishing and breaks long sentences to bring the Flesch score above 65.
A technical writer discovers 40% passive voice and rewrites to make instructions clearer.
An email marketer tests copy to ensure it reads at a 7th-grade level for maximum open rates.
