About 8th Pay Commission Calculator
Central government employees have been planning for the 8th Pay Commission since its announcement in January 2025. Unlike previous commissions, the fitment factor has not been officially declared yet — meaning every employee is working from projections. This calculator presents three evidence-based fitment scenarios side by side (1.83x conservative, 2.28x expected, 2.86x optimistic), letting you see your revised basic pay, HRA, DA structure, and arrears under each outcome.
How It Works
Enter your current basic pay from your 7th CPC pay matrix and select your pay level (Level 1-18). The tool maps your pay level to the corresponding HRA city category: Level 1-5 may fall in X/Y/Z based on your posting city; higher levels follow standard HRA percentages (24% for X cities, 16% for Y, 8% for Z).
For each fitment scenario, the revised basic pay = current basic × fitment factor. The new HRA is computed on the revised basic. DA resets to 0% at implementation. Gross revised salary = revised basic + HRA (at 0% DA). The tool then subtracts NPS contribution (10% of basic) to show take-home under each scenario.
Arrears are calculated as: (Revised monthly pay − Current monthly pay) × number of months from the selected implementation date to the arrear payment date. All three scenarios are shown side by side for direct comparison.
Who Is This For
A Central Secretariat employee at Level 11 in Delhi comparing revised basic and HRA under the 2.28x expected fitment to plan their EMI affordability.
A defence civilian employee checking the arrears they would receive if implementation happens on January 1, 2026 under the 1.83x conservative scenario.
A government employee approaching retirement planning whether to retire before or after 8th CPC implementation, based on the projected basic for pension calculation.
A teaching staff member at a Central University estimating revised pay to plan a major purchase timed around the arrear payment.
Scope note: The 8th Pay Commission fitment factor is not yet officially announced. The three scenarios (1.83x, 2.28x, 2.86x) are based on historical Pay Commission patterns and analyst estimates — not government declarations. HRA percentages follow current 7th CPC norms; the 8th CPC may revise HRA slabs. Do not use these projections for any financial obligation — treat results as planning estimates only.
