About the Medium Formatter
Medium does not accept raw Markdown. This tool converts Markdown to HTML that pastes correctly into Medium with proper formatting for headings, code blocks, blockquotes, lists, and images.
Yes. The Publish Anywhere tab exports your draft per platform: LinkedIn keeps bold and italic by converting them to Unicode characters (LinkedIn strips markdown), X gives you a numbered thread under 280 characters each, and Hashnode/Ghost/dev.to get Markdown plus YAML frontmatter with a canonical URL so Google keeps ranking your original.
It scores your draft against Medium’s published curation guidelines — length, subtitle, image alt text, section structure, sources, and an AI-slop check — so you can fix issues before publishing. It is a heuristic guide, not a guarantee of distribution.
It flags overused AI-tell and cliche words (delve, tapestry, leverage, seamless, robust…), adverb density, hedging, and “not X but Y” constructions. Medium deprioritises AI-looking prose, so a low slop score helps distribution and reads more human.
The Flesch-Kincaid Reading Ease score measures how easy your text is to read on a 0-100 scale. Scores above 60 are ideal for Medium articles (general audience). The tool also shows grade level, sentence length mix, passive voice instances, and overused words.
Medium cannot display HTML tables. With a GitHub token, each table is uploaded as a public Gist and the URL is auto-embedded — Medium auto-renders Gist URLs as interactive embeds.
Your draft auto-saves to your browser localStorage only. Nothing is sent to any server. Your GitHub token is stored locally in your browser.
It validates your title against Medium's 100-character limit, checks subtitle length (140-char limit), validates heading hierarchy (no skipped levels), and analyzes your opening paragraph for hooks like questions or statistics.
It is a GitHub personal access token with Gist scope. Without it, tables fall back to ASCII art code blocks. Create one at github.com/settings/tokens.
