GTA 6 costs ₹5,999 (Standard) or ₹7,499 (Ultimate) in India, launches 19 Nov 2026, preload from 12 Nov. Editions, disc-less box, PC timeline, work-hours price.
GTA 6 launches on Thursday, 19 November 2026 at midnight local time on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. In India the Standard Edition is ₹5,999 and the Ultimate Edition is ₹7,499; in the US they are $79.99 and $99.99. Pre-orders opened on 25 June 2026, every pre-order includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, and digital pre-load starts on 12 November — a full week before launch. That is the whole answer for most people. The rest of this guide covers what the ₹1,500 Ultimate premium actually buys, why the “physical” box has no disc in it, where PC sits, and how the price looks measured in hours of your own work.
One housekeeping note before the details: this is the third release date. Rockstar first said 2025, moved to 26 May 2026, then locked 19 November 2026. Our own GTA 6 countdown was still pointing at the May date until this week — it now counts to 19 November in your local timezone, which is how Rockstar is doing the midnight launch worldwide.
Price by region and edition
| Edition | India | United States | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | ₹5,999 | $79.99 | Full single-player game, Vintage Vice City Pack pre-order bonus, one free month of GTA+ on digital pre-orders |
| Ultimate | ₹7,499 | $99.99 | Everything in Standard plus the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, the Hawk & Little Morgan revolver, personalised weapon variants, Vice City Style clothing, Jason’s safehouse vehicles, and exclusive shops and properties |
| Ultimate upgrade (later) | — | $20 | Buy Standard now, add the Ultimate content after launch |
Two things stand out in that table. First, the Indian price is not a straight currency conversion — ₹5,999 is roughly $68 at September 2026 rates, so India is getting regional pricing about 15% under the US sticker. Second, the Ultimate upgrade path exists. If you are unsure whether cosmetics and a period-correct Cheetah are worth ₹1,500 to you, buy Standard and decide later; the upgrade price in the US is $20, which is exactly the launch-day gap.
Rockstar has also confirmed two things that matter more than any bonus car: the single-player campaign has no microtransactions, and the studio says no generative AI was used to make the game. For a title that has been in full production since roughly 2020, both statements are unusual enough to be part of the pitch.
The physical edition has no disc
Here is the thing most pre-order pages bury: the physical version of GTA 6 ships as a box with a download code inside. No disc. If you were planning to buy physical to resell later, lend to a friend, or keep a copy that works without a storefront account, that plan does not survive contact with the packaging. Buy digital and get the pre-load; the only reason to buy the box is the box.
Pre-load matters this time. The download is expected to be large — Rockstar has not published a final size, and we are not going to invent one — and Indian fibre connections in the 100–300 Mbps range will want the full week from 12 November. If you are on a 40 Mbps plan, start the pre-load the hour it opens.
