Past performance is not indicative of future results. Bitcoin is a highly volatile asset. This tool is for educational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice. Historical prices are approximate and sourced from public market data.
Bitcoin halving is the single most predictable supply-side event in any asset class — occurring precisely every 210,000 blocks with a mathematically certain outcome: the per-block miner reward is cut in half. Four halvings have occurred since Bitcoin's launch: November 2012 (50→25 BTC), July 2016 (25→12.5 BTC), May 2020 (12.5→6.25 BTC), and April 2024 (6.25→3.125 BTC). Each has been followed by a price cycle that took Bitcoin to a new all-time high — though the magnitude of gains has diminished with each cycle as the asset matures.
The ROI calculator uses hardcoded historical spot prices at monthly intervals around each halving — from 6 months before to 18 months after. You select a halving cycle, your hypothetical entry timing (e.g., "3 months before"), and exit timing (e.g., "12 months after"). Your investment amount is divided by the buy price to determine BTC quantity, then multiplied by the sell price to compute exit value.
The price chart tab renders a CSS bar chart (no external libraries) showing relative price movement normalized within each cycle, making it easy to visually compare the pre/post-halving trajectory. The next halving countdown uses a live JavaScript timer counting down to the estimated April 2028 date.
All calculations happen entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server.

Someone planning a DCA strategy around the 2028 halving who wants to understand historical pre-halving price action.
Scope note: Historical returns shown are approximate and should not be used as a basis for investment decisions. Bitcoin's past price behavior does not predict future performance. The calculator does not account for taxes, exchange fees, slippage, or the psychological difficulty of holding through 50%+ drawdowns. Prices are monthly approximations — actual returns would vary based on exact entry and exit times. The 5th halving date is an estimate based on average block time and will shift as mining difficulty adjusts.
