About UPI Payment Link Maker

A UPI payment link turns your UPI ID into a one-tap collect request. Instead of dictating your VPA and an amount, you share a link or QR that opens the payer’s app with everything pre-filled. This maker builds the NPCI-standard upi:// deep link, a scannable QR, and app-specific buttons for Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM — entirely in your browser, with nothing sent to a server.

How It Works

Every UPI collect link follows the NPCI deep-link specification: upi://pay?pa=VPA&pn=PayeeName&am=Amount&cu=INR&tn=Note. The payee address (pa) and payee name (pn) are required; amount (am) and note (tn) are optional. Spaces are percent-encoded so app parsers read the values correctly.

The QR code is the same string rendered as a matrix using the qrcode library in your browser — any UPI app can scan it. The app buttons swap the scheme: Google Pay understands tez://upi/pay, PhonePe uses phonepe://pay, Paytm uses paytmmp://pay, and BHIM plus every bank app handles the generic upi://pay. These schemes only resolve on a device where the app is installed, which is why the buttons are labelled for mobile.

Because the amount is embedded in the link, a fixed-price link shows the exact figure in the payer’s app; an amount-less link lets them type any value.
